Cedwyn, at an opportune moment, separated Haydn from the group, asking him, "Please walk with me Haydn."

"Not really, my lord." He takes a breath. "I do apologize. I suppose I have been a little short tempered. It will not happen again."

Cedwyn took stock of the squire. It was clear that the squire was troubled, but Cedwyn couldn't suss out the issue.

"Haydn. It does not do one well to keep anger corked. Something happened when we went into the forest, yes?"

The boy sighs. "No my lord, everything was quiet. Truth be told, I would had preferred something had happened. But I stayed to guard the horses and nothing happened."

Cedeyn nodded.

"I understand Haydn," he replied sympathetically. Cedwyn felt the sting as hus squire did. Perhaps a little something extra was due the boy for his service, "But I'll be damned if you aren't the best squire in the County, if not the kingdom. And let me tell you one last thing, I'm proud for you at how well you handle yourself. It won't be many years and you will make fine knight."
