Summer Letters
« on: November 03, 2015, 07:12:48 AM »
Cedwyn sat down to write. Ysbail deserved some correspondence from her husband. It hadn't been a wooing for the ages but a business arrangement, but still she deserved some warmth in her life.

He started....

My dearest beloved. I am writing to you from the road. My thoughts turn to you and our child within you. I miss you and the home we are making together. I miss your smile and the light of the sun on your hair. I would like to walk the paths of our home with you again and see the orchards growing.

Garrison duty is supposed to be safe, but I have once again encountered Merlin. This time I did not come away unscathed. I fear for your reaction when you see me for Sir Rodric and I fought a giant and have been marked. He and I have met a remarkable people, Thulians fleeing from Saxon enslavement. They are led by two children (though not much younger than us) and a pagan priestess.

Sir Rodric returns now. I should go. I shall write more later.

Your husband,

Cedwyn

He then folded and sealed the letter in wax. Upon his return to the castle, Cedwyn would make sure a courier received it to take to Winterbourne Stoke.
