Combat -vs- Skirmish -vs- Battle
« on: July 23, 2016, 01:41:40 PM »
So, here's a thing.

Fighting in Pendragon generally takes three forms. One-on-one (or one on many) combat like when you guys fought the three-eyes giant. Then there are battles, where massed armies square off (like Mearcred Creek). The one we haven't seen yet is Skirmish.

A skirmish is when one formation of combatants fights against another. There is an initial battle roll as the formations engage, and then the combat breaks into smaller melee fragments. Sir Cedwyn, as the ranking Knight (due to Glory), has ordered you guys to prepare to receive the charge, which will qualify this as a skirmish.

Sir Cedwyn is going to make a battle roll, against the Saxon leader. The results of that will determine advantages or penalties for the first round only. And after that, you will pretty much be on your own until you are either taken down, or take your opponent down.

I'll post the start of the battle once I have resolved Cedwyn's battle roll.

So, I'll post for resolving the battle roll with Cedwyn, then I will post the opener for the combat, and we'll proceed round by round from there.
