Rodric returns to the camp about half an hour from departing. Valka stays away much longer - it is after dark when she returns. All of you note that she has red runic symbols painted onto her face and arms, and her hair is somewhat crusty. She goes without a word and adopts a prayerful pose beside Arne where she paints similar runic symbols on Arne's face and limbs. With that done, she lays her spear across her knees and stays there, head bowed.
Sir Cedwyn and Artaigne manage to track down two older boys willing to act as squires. They also pick up a horse, and a spare sword. You have Arne's horse, if Sir Cedwyn wants to commandeer it, and plenty of spears.
