I'm reassessing the winery investment. I realized that it could leave ?3 in the hole with a bad year. My estate has no flex to cover that.

Is there any Glory in upgrading my squire's equipment or anything other than my armor I need to replace that I have missed

Nope. But it makes your squire more useful.

Conspicuous Consumption Glory: 39? Does the armour and clothes count?

Since the armour and clothes are significant upgrades, they will count as conspicuous consumption one time only.

Manor upgrades provide varying glory - some do not qualify for conspicuous consumption. The large wood hall will earn you one glory per year once complete. There is no glory for the smaller investments (apiary, etc). The orchards gives you 10 glory each, annually. Note that the orchards must have their maintenance costs paid while maturing (when they provide no income), so factor that into your plans if you haven't already. You'll lose money the first 4 years and at least break even the next 6 years. Once the orchards are mature (10 years) they start generating 1d3 income each year.

Note that the retinue (not the Steward) will earn you glory every year, as the entourage travels with you on an ongoing basis.

I see 16 glory for the feast and the armour / clothing. The other items will award no glory until (and if) they are completed (so nothing until next winter phase). Thereafter you will get 21 annual glory.

Also I fixed your spelling above. ;)

Ok, so you're done your spending plan?

Do you want to RP the feast out, or just claim the glory and roll for a wife?
