My dearest wife Lady Ysbail,
My service to the King takes me to the lands of the Centurion King. He is a proud man, jealous of his ancestral perogatives. Sir Rodric and I as well as Arne and Valda of the Northmen go to treat with him for King Uther and seek his support.
It is my fondest hope that this missive finds you dearest Ysbail and our daughter as well. I long for home and my hall and our bed. The birds that begin to nest in the orchards. Soon we shall be swimming in apples and plums.
I must needs go soon so I close this letter.
