RP: In Rodric's Tent
« on: July 11, 2015, 12:54:43 PM »
You return to your tent after breakfast. Your entourage is starting to pack up the camp, but they will be some time about it yet. Your tent it still standing, so you enter with Suger in tow. He has been very quiet since arriving late for breakfast, and it's certain he suspects what is about to happen.

He stands outside the tent until you summon him to attend you.

He enters, head bowed. "Yes my lord?"

"You appear to have had yourself quite the evening." the knight said to his squire, his tone calm and casual.

Suger stands there with his head bowed and says nothing for a moment.

"I beg your forgiveness, my lord. There can be no excuse for my behaviour. I failed you in my duties. I can only appeal to your mercy, though I have no right to it."

Rodric stood in silence for nearly a half a minute.

"What is her name?" he finally asked his squire.

"Catrin."

There's a certain irony in the name - it means "Pure."

OOC: A couple of questions before I reply here, what would the cost be of having a celebration in Falt when Rodric returns with Habren?  Would ?1 or ?2 be a decent amount to put out if I wanted to make it include commoners as well?  Would that also be enough to cover hiring the troop that Catrin is a part of for entertainment?

Feasts and celebrations can range from a small gathering for a few dozen denari, all the way to the feast Cedwyn put on, which cost him in the vicinity of ?10.

A ?1-2 dinner would be a nice feast for a small number of guests, and that budget would have room to include hiring Catrin's troupe.

"Then go ask Catrin if she could send the leader of her troupe to my tent.  I will be married before Christmas and we will need to have a celebration to welcome the new Lady of Falt home.  Such a celebration will require entertainment and they were splendid last night."

Rodric waited until the squire was almost out of his tent.

"Oh, and Suger.  As my squire, your actions reflect on me as much as they do on you.  I trust from now on that will be your first thought for every decision and action you take?"

Somewhat stunned, he turns and walks from the tent. Your words turn him around, and he turns to face you. He places a fist over his chest, and bows his head. With some solemnity he says, "Yes, my lord. I will not disgrace you again." He goes to duck out of the flap, but steps back.

"My lord?" When you look at him, he adds with a large smile and great feeling, "Thank you!" and is gone.
