An option yes. The Earl was pretty firm about everyone meeting their obligations.

How does a knight go about acquiring a new squire?

Grab an urchin by the scruff of his neck and say, "You there, street rat!  You shall be my squire!"   ;D

Generally, a knight would recruit his own squire however, from his network of contacts.

Darren's suggestion is one way, though that is a real crap-shoot, and you are unlikely to find someone skilled enough to be able to be of much use to you. Another option would be to take on a relative - a young cousin perhaps, or a young relative of your wife? You can just declare that if you wish. They'll be 15 years old.

Or you could go to someone like Sir Amig and ask about likely candidates. He is an experienced knight and would give you a good candidate. They may be a little older, and possibly more skilled.

With every knight in the county in Sarum (and most of the knights of the kingdom here as well), you have plenty of opportunity to network and pick one up. If you wish to take that route, go ahead and make a social skill roll of your choice, and we can see what you come up with.

I like the idea of asking Habren if she has a relative.  Let's go that route.

So there's this thing about a wedding and feast likely to be in winter phase. Shall we RP that? :)

Will Sir Cedwyn's wife let him go to a pagan marriage?   ;D

She might have... concerns. Pagan marriages are rumoured to be rowdy affairs.

It'll all depend on when we have the wedding and when we have the reception. I don't think we should drag Cedwyn out there twice in winter. As our hosts Rodric and co should be invited to both but naturally can decline based on the "fun"  that will likely be had at the first ^^

Just waiting to see what the priestess says. She might already be busy planning :)
