OK, I need a First Aid check from Cedwyn.

And I'll allow a Spirituality trait check from Artaigne. Success does not guarantee any effect.

Rodric looked at Arne and listened as he spoke what appeared to be his final words to Valka.  The knight gripped his sword tightly and turned to their foes that survived.  They would meet their god before Arne would meet his.

Artaigne prays, Valka keeps Arne steads, and Cedwyn does what he can to bandage Arne, carefully taking his armour off to expose his wounds.

While you work on that, Rodric goes around the battlefield with a grim face, dispatching wounded and disabled Saxons.

The blood is flowing freely, but Cedwyn has trained for such things back when he was a squire caring for a knight, and kept those skills fresh since he became a knight himself.

10 minutes later, Cedwyn has managed to staunch the flow of blood. Arne is still very week, in considerable pain, but Cedwyn appears to have stabilized Arne for the time being. The Northman is clearly going to need chirurgery before he can sit a horse again. Arne is mumbling and delirious, but he is not really aware of his surroundings.

Rodric comes back to the group, a dripping, bloody sword in his hand. The ships have started burning, but Sir Rodric has gathers materials to make a litter.

Current Status:
Arne (3/26) unconscious, major wound
Artaigne (29)
Cedwyn (29)
Rodric (28)
Valka (26/28)

[Arne can give me a 1d20<=3 to remain conscious.]

I also need Arne to give me a 1d6 to see what attributes he looses as a result of the major wound.

Cedwyn stood and tried to stretch. He was exhausted in his own way. The emotional toll of helping Arne was somehow a little more than simply fighting.

On Rodric's return, he pulled Artaigne into conference with them.

"We still have around 9 miles of navigable river to scout," he noted, "We cannot leave Arne alone and I've done all I can for him. But we need to at least scout further down. Hopefully these are the last ships but we need to know."

Valka looked up at Cedwyn and the others, her face a mess of blood, sweat, and tears. "Thank you, brother. Go. I will stay with him." She gripped Arne's hand and looked down to him again, her crimson brows furrowed with concern.

"Milord, can we really spare the time to scout any more?  We have already lost one of our number to these Saxons, which puts us in two binds...that we have to care for him, and it drops our combat strength by at least two.  I know Valka will not leave his side, and despite her prowess in battle, can we really in good conscience leave her alone to guard him?  If one of us stays then we are down to two.  As harsh and rude as the Praetor may be, even he could not argue with the manly way in which we have dispatched the duty we have been given.  I would say that the only reasonable course of action is to carry our brother from the field of battle and return to the camp.

We can not even guarantee finding a physicker that we could pay to treat Arne among those Roman dogs, which could press us to have to go farther afield, perhaps even back to your own lands, or his people for aid.  Any delay puts him at great risk."

"Agreed, but the Praetor is a prickly sort. We need to give a report and if it ends with, we scouted to the next possible landing site and found no more Saxon ships but there is still such and such navigable river left. It is better than having left without seeking a further knowledge."

Cedwyn turned to Rodric who seemed to have a taken a murderous bent this day.

"Sir Rodric would you consent to watching over Arne and Valka whilst Sir Artaigne and I scout ahead?"
