Can we know how many Saxons are actually here, as well as how large the raiding parties are and how many are left back to guard the ships?

He doesn't know details, but five ships means ~500 raiders.

Craig. Are we going to kill those guys if we put them on horseback?

It won't be healthy for them, but you don't have a lot of other options. They should survive, and if they don't, they're only Saxons.

"The trip back to the Praetor will take us a full two days . . ."

Actually, the Praetor is the king (or at least one of the titles he has).  You were thinking of his steward.   ;)

Thanks for the correction Darren, I'll edit my post shortly.

As for my rolls, I wasn't sure which way I wanted to go, that's why I let the dice decide.

Regarding the dead Saxon:  Arne would support the idea of making a cairn for no other reason than to prevent the Saxon's spirit/undead form from running around and causing problems (ie. a draugr).  If Cedwyn and any of the others want to let the prisoners have a burial service for their fallen comrade then Arne wouldn't object, providing the service wasn't too lengthy.

So . . . I take it that when we handed over our prisoners it also included their horses and gear?

Are we fairly central in the camp or are we on the outskirts? If we're on the outskirts, how close to the edge would we be?
