Sir Cedwyn is first through the broken doorway. With his shield up, he picks his way through the wreckage. He steps forward into the entryway, but sees no one there.
Arne, right behind him, steps through but gets hung up on the door, and looses his feet, crashing to the ground with a fair bit of noise. The commotion distracts Sir Cedwyn a moment as he glances at Arne.
Before he is quoite sure what is happening, there is a blood curdling scream, and Sir Cedwyn senses rather than sees something rushing at him.
He manages to get his shield in play, which deflects the spear thrust. His armour absorbs the weakened blow, and what could have been a severe would is reduced to little more than a bruise.
Refocusing in front of him, Sir Cedwyn sees a figure with wild eyes and a feminine face, wearing boiled leather armour and wielding a spear. Behind her, two other similarly armed opponents come through doorways, but they will take time to close.
[Actions?]
Note: this is typical combat. Actions are fairly granular. A move, or an attack, and things like that count as actions. Everyone takes one action. For example, Arne is going to want to stand up (1 actions). Then, he'll likely want to close (1 action) then, on round 3, he'll be able to attack.
For this round, Sir Cedwyn only has one opponent. Next round, he may have three.
