Dropping what remained of his lance Rodric spun his horse around and drew his sword to take a swing at the Saxon.

Seeing Cedwyn wheel around his horse for a charge, the Saxon ignores Rodric's attack. Rodric misses, but it is no worry. The spear powered by Cedwyn's huge horse hits. Cedwyn does 16 (24-8 for armour) damage. The saxon staggers on his feet for a moment, but his wounds are too much for him and he falls to his knees before falling over senseless.

Rodric barely has time to rearm when another pair of raiders crest the hill.

Rodric charged beside his fellow knight, leveling his lance at the other warrior.

A few quick notes/questions, for Rodric, he has a Courser not a Rouncy.  Courser's in the book do 5d6 damage, the character sheet is wrong.  And is Cedwyn's a special breed of a Charger, Charger's in the book are listed as doing 6d6 damage?

That makes more sense.  I didn't see that one under the list of horses, had to search for the name.

It's not normally available in the Uther period. He got a lucky roll.

And I assume I can try to breed him in winter phase?

For you, there's a random chance of producing a Destrier in your herd, yes.

Rodric makes a successful charge, and slips his spear past the Saxon's shield, doing (16-8 for armour) 8 damage. The Saxon is wounded, but still on his feet.

Cedwyn breaks into a charge as well, but the Saxon is too quick for him. Cedwyn manages to get his shield in place to help protect from the blow, taking (19-8 for armour -6 for shield) 5 damage. The blow shakes Cedwyn a little, but he manages to stay in the saddle.

So wait...my attack was a success but I did no damage?

Your attack was a success (<=20), and the saxon's was also a success. Since you both had successes, the one who rolled highest wins. He rolled 5, you rolled a one. In competing skill checks like that, only one wins the roll and does damage.

Guess the question is: do they get a free attack on us if we do disengage and recharge?

[OOC: And the other question is now that we're not charging, are we using our damage, or still our mount's damage?

Edit: Just remembered, for Rodric it doesn't matter, it's 5d6 either way.  Rolled a 3.]
