Cedwyn shook his head, "No. You are no fool, my lady. You speak words of wisdom to me."

He continued, "My father did what he could with these lands to make Winterbourne Stoke stronger, more prosperous. I returned from battle with the resources to make that happen and this very winter will see the first steps of that come true. There is glory in battle to be sure, but power and strength flow from the lands a lord holds. The stronger the lands, the greater glory can be achieved."

[courtesy roll-2...versus 12! success! finally!]

She smiles a little. "I see potential for success in your vision, Sir Cedwyn. I shall be watching with interest to see if that potential is realized."

She takes the arm of her lady in waiting. "Sir Cedwyn, would you walk me back to my father? The evening chill is deepening."

There is a finality to her words.

"Of course, my lady. I would be happy so to do," Cedwyn motioned with his arm, "If you please, I shall return you to your lord father."

[ooc: doing whatever is normal to escort the lady and her handmaiden back]
