Character Sheet
« on: June 16, 2014, 09:56:16 AM »
Ken,

I need a name. Pick something Cymric, from dark ages Britain.

Then I need some rolls from you:

Then I need 1d20 for which specific noble you are vassal to.

I'll then need 1d20 for your father's class
Then 1d20 for your father's wealth.
Then 1d20 for Luck.

Use the dice log, I sent you an invitation.

TABLE 2?1: CYMRIC ATTRIBUTES
AttributeMin. ScoreMax. Score
SIZ818
DEX518
STR518
CON521

Quote
Advice:

To get 4d6 damage, STR + SIZ must equal 21 to 26;
to get 5d6 damage, STR + SIZ must equal 27 to 32;
to get 6d6 damage, STR + SIZ must equal 33 to 38;

To have a decent chance of surviving wounds, CON should be at least 11.

Derived Statistics:
Damage: (SIZ + STR) / 6
Healing Rate: (CON + STR) / 10
Movement Rate: (STR + DEX) / 10
Total Hit Points: CON + SIZ
Unconscious: Total Hit Points / 4

Once I know your APP score, you can select distinctive features for your appearance.

SKILL AND TRAIT CUSTOMIZATION

Add Individual Skill Choices
Note the following limitations:
? No skill or combat skill may be raised above 15 by these individual skill points.
? No Trait can be raised above 19 by these individual skill points.
? No Passion can be raised above 20 by these individual skill points.
? No attribute (i.e., SIZ, DEX, STR, CON, APP) can ever be raised above racial limits.
? No skill with a beginning value of 0 or ?―? may be augmented, except for combat skills. Hence, for example, no male character can have a Fashion skill when starting play.
? Individual skills can be augmented by several of the several steps below. For example, a default Cymric knight in the Uther Period starts with a Hunting skill of 6, but at Step 3 this can be raised to 11, then at Step 4 it
can receive 4 more points to bring it to 15.

1. Choose any one combat or non-combat skill at which you excel. Make it 15. (A weapon skill is a popular and useful choice.)
2. Choose any 3 non-combat skills, and make each of them 10.
3. Raise any four scores from among the Traits, Passions, or Skills.
If you raise a skill or combat skill, then it increases it by up to 5 points.
If you raise an attribute, trait, or passion, then it increases by 1 point.
4. Add 10 more discretionary points, to be divided in any amount among any number of non-combat skills of your choice.
5. All other skills start at the default values.

CHARCTERISTIC

Roll (or I'll allow you to select) a Characteristic:

d20 Roll

Characteristic
1 Keen on Status (+5 Courtesy)
2 Spiritual Bent (+5 Religion)
3 Know the Commoners (+5 Folklore)
4 Know Faerie Ways (+5 Faerie Lore)

7 Keen-sighted (+5 Awareness)
8 At Home in Nature (+5 Hunting)
9 Sprightly (+10 Dancing)
10 Natural Healer (+5 First Aid)
11 Naturally Lovable (+10 Flirting)
12 Never Forgets a Face (+10 Recognize)

17 Good with Words (+10 Compose)
18 Grew Up with Books (+5 Reading)
19 Good with Birds (+10 Falconry)
20 Clever at Games (+10 Gaming)

This is a characteristic your family will be known for.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE

Thus far, your character is 21 years old and has already gained the reputation, connections, and minimum skills needed for knighthood. You may wish to add some years to your character?s age before play, allowing him to gain some further pre-play experience.

Each additional year of age provides a character with any two of the following benefits; you may not choose the same benefit twice for the same year.

? Distribute 1d6 points among the character?s skills. No non-weapon skills with a starting value of 0 may be augmented, and no skill may be raised above 15.

? Add 1 point to any trait (to a maximum of 19) or passion (maximum 20).

? Add 1 point to STR, DEX, CON, or APP. No stat can be raised to a value greater than the maximum possible for a character of that culture.

Note: You may not age your character more than 5 additional years. Remember to note on your character sheet that your character is one year older each time you take the Previous Experience option!

For a first name I'll go with Rodric.

First set of rolls are done, I don't think that dice roller and I are going to get along :)

Vassal result 2
Father's class 15
Father's wealth 4
Luck 1

You are a squire of Counter Riderick of Salisbury, one of many who serve him. Your father was a landed night, a vassal of Count Roderick, and custodian of the manor at Falt. Fault is a relatively poor manor. After expenses, your father had only ?3-?5 (?=Lira) per year to support his knightly activities. Your father thus was not able to equip himself well, but everything he had is now yours. You could have had him trained for hunting or battle, your choice.

As a landed noble, you need to add the Concern (my commoners) directed trait at 7.

You have the following equipment:

Cuirbouilli armor and helm (8 points)
Shield (6)
Sword
5 spears
dagger
War pony
Sumpter (a class of horse)

You also have a Courser, a fast horse that your father managed to breed.

In your history, like many in the county, you have had many bad dealings with Saxons. These events have given you a hatred of all things Saxon (Hate Saxons: 14 as a passion).

Now, your father may have been relatively poor, but he did managed to squirrel away something of a warchest. You have ?30 in old roman coins in your treasury.

Your starting glory is 278, mostly from the great deeds of your father. Your line has a long history of service the kings of Logres. When you get knighted, which should be shortly, you'll gain another thousand Glory.

When the game starts, you have just assumed control of the day-to-day operations of Falt from your great uncle, your Grandfather's younger brother.

Your household:
1 Old Knight (Grandfather's younger brother)
2 young knights (cousins, etc)
These represents forces you may call upon at need.

You have eight other relatives that you may call upon at need, but they are not knighted. They are unskilled at fighting, but could be called upon in a pinch.

The manor is not well positioned for providing forces to the Count. Your holding may produce a levy of 53 able-bodied men, somewhat below the average contribution expected of 100 men.

Attached is the area map of your manor, south on the Avon river where it enters the Camelot forest.

Your details family history follows.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

I can't send it from here - webmail is limiting me to 5Meg. It's a 16 MB file.

Do you have a FTP I can dump it on?

Almost done, just trying to find the time to read over the various skills so I can make informed choices about what to increase.

I think I'm pretty happy with my stats which are as follows;

SIZ 13
DEX 11
STR 13
CON 13
APP 13

That should total 63 which includes the +3 modifier to CON.

1. Choose any one combat or non-combat skill at which you excel. Make it 15. (A weapon skill is a popular and useful choice.)
Sword
2. Choose any 3 non-combat skills, and make each of them 10.
Falconry, Heraldry & Dancing

If you raise an attribute, trait, or passion, then it increases by 1 point.
Merciful & Just go up 1 point (Cruel & Arbitrary go down 1), Orate goes from 5 to 10, Recognize goes from 3 to 8
4. Add 10 more discretionary points, to be divided in any amount among any number of non-combat skills of your choice.
Awareness +1(8 ), Hunting +2(8 ), Courtesy +3(8 ), Singing +4(8 )

Characteristic; Naturally Lovable (+10 Flirting) for a rank of 13

I'm thinking of aging him 1, possibly 2 years.

I'd like to age him, depending on the d6 roll for skills, possibly 2 years.  Do you want me to make that roll on the site (can you throw a sticky somewhere on the board for it please), or do you want to make it?

Not a great roll, but not a bad one either, I'll leave it at 1 additional year.

I increased Battle, Horsemanship and Spear by 1 so they're all at 11 and increased STR from 13 to 14.

I'll email the pdf to your gmail account for review sometime this morning.

Also, because you have been aged by one year, you would have been knighted last summer - add 1000 Glory.
