Her eyes widen a little, and she nods gravely. "You will be the talk of the court, husband."
She turns to go, but pauses. She turns back to you.
"I... owe you an apology. When you returned home, I had remembered your words about wooing me, and felt some small disappointment that you did not return with a gift for me. I know you were mourning a companion, and events of the summer weighed heavily on your heart. Still, I felt a pang, and feared that the ardour you spoke of so breathlessly had dimmed while you were away."
Her face brightens. "But an invitation to Court more than makes up for it! Please forgive my weakness."
