Winter Court

Cedwyn and Ysabell will come

Your decision to include Ysbail elicits what may be the first open display of excitement you have seen from your dutiful wife.

"Oh, husband! What a treat! Thank you for bringing me! We must make a good impression yes? I think we need to do some shopping. If you would allow me, I could make the arrangements myself for new clothing for both of us. Your squire and my handmaiden as well, of course. Perhaps a carriage as well? If you would grant me an allowance to see to these things, I will take care of it all."

She seems, for the first time, filled with joy. She had seemed a little mopey when you first returned, but it was difficult to tell - she is often difficult to read. But now, she is flushed with excitement.

[OOC: How much money will you give Ysbail to outfit your retinue in clothing? This will count as conspicuous consumption.]

Cedwyn pulled out a purse with 7 libra.

"This should cover it all quite nicely. It's been a good year and we should enjoy the fruits of it."

Her eyes widen a little, and she nods gravely. "You will be the talk of the court, husband."

She turns to go, but pauses. She turns back to you.

"I... owe you an apology. When you returned home, I had remembered your words about wooing me, and felt some small disappointment that you did not return with a gift for me. I know you were mourning a companion, and events of the summer weighed heavily on your heart. Still, I felt a pang, and feared that the ardour you spoke of so breathlessly had dimmed while you were away."

Her face brightens. "But an invitation to Court more than makes up for it! Please forgive my weakness."

Cedwyn pulled Ysbail into his arms.

"There is nothing to forgive, my lady wife," he said with a broad grin, "Court will be far more interesting with you there."

He then kissed her.

For the first time, she responds with what approaches real affection.

Not passion, certainly. But there is a tenderness there that was not present before.

"My lovely lady wife," he said as he finally broke this kiss, "We shall make this a Winter Court to remember."

[ooc: ready to move on?]
